Judgment Authority
Judgment Authority is the deeper layer beneath decision legitimacy.
It asks:
- who has the right to decide
- who carries the consequence
- who can delegate
- when delegation is invalid
- why automation cannot erase responsibility
Decision Legitimacy evaluates whether a particular decision stands. Judgment Authority studies the authority structure that makes judgment possible.
Relationship to Cognitive Assets
Cognitive assets can preserve context, reasoning, and decision history. They do not automatically carry authority. A memory structure can support judgment, but it cannot decide who is allowed to judge.
