Applications Layer
Applications are not use cases. They are instantiations of framework logic under real-world constraints.
The layer combines Framework rules with Judgment Authority conditions, operational limits, and observable outcomes to produce a decision structure that can be tested in practice.
Transformation Contract
- What transforms into this layer? Framework logic, authority conditions, and a concrete environment with cost, risk, time, dependency, and reversibility constraints.
- What does this layer produce? A bounded decision instance with an execution boundary, accountable decision owner, and outcome validation plan.
- How does it improve future decisions? It reveals whether abstract rules and authority models survive contact with real constraints.
Required Application Mapping
Every application must map:
| Required element | Question answered |
|---|---|
| Framework rule | Which legitimacy rule or decision test governs this instance? |
| Authority condition | Who may decide, delegate, review, and bear the consequence? |
| Execution boundary | Which actions are allowed, restricted, reversible, or irreversible? |
| Outcome validation | What evidence will confirm, challenge, or invalidate the decision structure? |
An application missing any of these mappings is an example, not a valid system instantiation.
Closed-Loop Role
- Depends on: Framework rules, Judgment Authority conditions, and real-world constraints.
- Improves: practical decision design, boundary detection, and validation quality.
- Modifies upstream: Application friction can expose missing variables, invalid framework rules, or authority structures that must be revised before execution.
Applied Areas
- Shop Risk Check applies Decision Legitimacy principles to small business commitments such as leases, store acquisitions, renewals, and franchise decisions.
- Business Go / No-Go Judgment
- Loss-Making Store Exit Judgment
- AI Project Failure Diagnosis
- Shopify 3PL Routing Diagnosis
- Whitepaper as Trust Asset
No Layer Is Terminal
Applications must generate evidence for Reports and must be capable of changing the Framework, authority model, or original Problem Space when real conditions invalidate them.
